Death, darkness, monsters and mutations.
Darkwood is a game by Acid Wizard Studios that I have been following for some time now, and now it is finally on the way to early access on steam. No official release date has been given just yet, but it does say it is coming soon to steam early access.
From appearances it looks like Darkwood is going to be an awesome survival horror game. It’s a top down view with a dark and twisted atmosphere. Don’t believe me, then check out steam’s greenlight page here at:

or check out the store page at:

While the early access portion of the game will be limited it still looks to hold some great potential, including in its features some NPC’s to interact with, unique monsters to fight or avoid, a crafting system, choices and consequences that will effect the game, and other cool features. As the developers put it, “The current version of the game is very playable, with most of the core features implemented, but a lot of stuff is still to come. The game is divided into chapters, and currently you can play through the first one. We’re still in development though, so there WILL be bugs, missing features, and a general lack of balance and polish.”

When the game is completed it should include three chapters of gameplay, things to discover, such as the story, and a mutation system that may be included in the early access, though I am not certain on that last one.

As a fan of horror games and good stories with mysteries to figure out, I have to say that I am really looking forward to this game, but don’t take my word on it, check out the sites above and taste the potential for yourself.
